Ella: a little wooden baby elephant by Chresten Sommer

Ella is a small wooden elephant figurine designed by Chresten Sommer. With her rounded body, gentle face and that unmistakable trunk, she looks remarkably like the real thing, and her modest size means she fits on almost any shelf, windowsill or bookcase.

Not quite how Kipling told it

In Rudyard Kipling's famous tale, the baby elephant gets its long trunk when a curious encounter with a crocodile by the "gray-green, muddy Limpopo River" ends with a very stretched nose. Chresten Sommer took a gentler route, shaping Ella by hand in natural wood.
